Long time journeyman Dusty Wolfe's self published ebook is a quick look at the 1984 professional wrestling scene. Wolfe has wrestled throughout the world and is best remembered for his time as a recurring enhancement worker in the WWF/E and WCW. 1984: The Year Wrestling Changed Forever is one of several books/articles written by Wolfe. His best known work is his 2008 autobiography Journal of a Journeyman.

1984: The Year Wrestling Changed Forever is a short article that provides readers with all too brief descriptions of the state of each of the major - and some of the minor - active professional wrestling territories immediately prior to the WWF Hulkamania expansion.  Wolfe also drops a few memories and some opinions of the then status quo of the professional wrestling industry.

While the article does provide some insight into the wrestling business, few readers will be completely satisfied with the piece as it barely scratches the surface of each territory and provides very little new information to the more informed fan.  While it is a quick and easy read, it lacks the depth that one who was around the business at the time can provide.  Wolfe has proven in some of his other works that he is more than capable of providing entertaining stories and well constructed arguments for and against some of pro wrestling's directions and execution. Unfortunately, this article/ebook is missing this. There are also some minor structural issues.

The book is typically modestly priced and gives some insight into the title's subject matter.  If a reader is looking for a cheap and quick read with some quick facts about the pre-Hulkamania wrestling industry, he/she may enjoy this book.  If a more indepth work is desired, Wolfe's 1984... is not the best option.
